Hello, my name is Victoria Carter and I’m 18 years old in grade 12. I attend Gravenhurst High School and some of my favourite subjects are math and accounting. For most of my life I have been interested in finance and math. I have always found myself interested in the problem solving questions in school and I love being faced with a challenge. I have joined many sports teams throughout my high school career like cross country, basketball, volleyball, soccer and track and field. Each sport has taught me valuable skills like leadership, teamwork and communication. Last summer I had the chance to co-op at the Town of Gravenhurst in the Legislative Service department and being there has taught me a lot of skills. I have learned not only valuable communication skills but experience in communicating that will be beneficial to me for my whole life. Working at the Town has also given me skills in filing, recording, documenting and valuable knowledge in this type of work field that I would've not been able to learn in school. In addition, I was offered a job at the Town of Gravenhurst when I completed my co-op. I was offered the job in a Administrative Clerk, Customer Service position which was like receptionist. This position gave me precious work experience that I didn't take for granted. When I’m older I hope to have a career in the finance or legislative department of a business.
